Next Election: June 9, 2026 | State Primary & Municipal Election
The Municipal Election will include the School Budget Validation Referendum, as well as both Town Council and School District seats for District 5, District 7, and one At-Large.
The State Primary will include candidates for State Representatives from Districts 99, 100, and 101. District 23 State Senator, District 1 U.S. Representative, U.S. Senator, and Governor's race.
NEW POLLING LOCATION
The polling center has been relocated to the Brunswick Recreation Center, located at 220 Neptune Drive at the Brunswick Landing. Formerly the Brunswick Naval Air Station.
The Brunswick Link makes free trips to the Recreation Center throughout the day. For more information on their schedule, click here.
What does this mean for you:
- All voters will use the Brunswick Recreation Center as their polling location on Election Day
- NO voting will be held at the Brunswick Jr. High Campus
- The polls will still be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
- Absentee voting will continue at Town Hall for 30 days prior to any election
- Absentee ballots will still be dropped off or mailed to Town Hall

The State Voting District Map includes a map of District 99, 100 & 101. The State Representative District 99, 100 & 101 individual files are street lists for each individual districts.

In a typical year, there are two elections, one in June and one in November. We're always in need of workers who can help with facilitating absentee voting in the 30 days before each election, as well as with absentee processing in the week prior to the election and on election day.

Nomination papers for the Brunswick School Board and Town Council are available in late July of each year and must be submitted to the Town Clerk's office by early September. The regular annual election of the Town Council and School Board shall be held on the first Tuesday following the first Monday of November.
- Nominating petitions must be filed with the Town Clerk not more than 100 days nor less than 60 days before the date of election.
- Unless a candidate files with the Town Clerk not more than 100 days nor less than 60 days before the date of election the candidate's written consent to accept nomination, agreeing not to withdraw, and if elected, to qualify, the nomination is invalid.

State law requires the appointment of a Treasurer for your campaign. You may appoint yourself or someone else, and you must place information on your advertising identifying the source of funding. A Registration of Treasurer must be filed with the Town Clerk's Department within ten days. If you plan to make no expenditures and accept no contributions, you may file the exemption affidavit. Remember, personal funds of a candidate used for campaign purposes are considered contributions/expenditures and must be duly reported as such under Maine law.
