Efficiency Maine Trust is seeking proposals from eligible businesses to demonstrate the potential uses and performance of medium- and heavy-duty battery electric vehicles in Maine.
Proposals must include the purchase of at least one Class 4-7 vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 14,000 pounds or more. Efficiency Maine is offering an incentive of 50% of the total purchase price of the vehicle up to a cap of $80,000-$175,000, depending on the GVWR.
Applications will be reviewed in three rounds. The application deadline for Round 1 is August 14, 2025. The application deadline for Round 2 is September 9, 2025. The application deadline for Round 3 is December 31, 2025. Grants can be combined with the federal Commercial Clean Vehicle Credit, which terminates on September 30, 2025.
