Biography
Ramona Thieme was born and raised in Maine, and has lived and gone to school across Cumberland and Sagadahoc counties. She is an alumna of Brunswick High School, and holds technical certifications from Southern Maine Community College. She found her way back to Brunswick after establishing her IT Support business, where she specializes in helping seniors.
Ramona has extensive experience in activist and community spaces. She has volunteered and organized with political campaigns including the Our Power campaign, is a member of Brunswick Renters Organization, and spends nearly all of her free time on community organizing and mobilization. Her experience in campaigns has included communications management, financial accounting, administrative tasks, and canvassing.
Following her 2025 election, Ramona looks forward to serving Brunswick as its first openly-transgender Town Councilor. Her priorities include housing affordability, pedestrian and bike safety, environmental responsibility, and thoughtful governance—including common-sense restrictions on municipal use of generative AI.
