Biography
Rich Ellis has called Brunswick home since 1969. His father was stationed at the Brunswick Naval Air Station, and Rich grew up in a family of five with his mother and four siblings—playing on local sports teams, supporting his local arcades one quarter at a time, working his first job downtown, and graduating from Brunswick High School. He attended the University of Delaware, where he studied Computer Science, and returned to Maine in 2001 to raise his family with his wife, Jill, and their two children, Brandon and Caitlin.
Rich brings a strong record of public service. He served six years on the Brunswick School Board, chairing the Finance and Facilities Committees, and volunteered four years on the board of Midcoast Youth Theater as Treasurer, overseeing finances while performing in more than a dozen musical productions. Professionally, he has held senior leadership roles in marketing, strategy, analytics, business optimization, and problem-solving at MBNA America, L.L. Bean, Hannaford, and WEX Inc.
Rich is ready to work with the Council to keep Brunswick safe, affordable, fun, and welcoming for everyone, while ensuring any growth is wisely executed and preserves the town’s unique charm.
