Biography

Nathan MacDonald is a born and raised Mainer and currently lives in an apartment on Pleasant Street in Brunswick. He serves as the Development and Community Engagement Director for Family Violence Project, a domestic violence resource center serving Maine survivors. He is also the Board President of Queerly ME, an LGBTQIA+ led nonprofit focused on statewide community connection and visibility. Nathan brings a background in public policy, grant writing, facilitation, budget oversight, and event planning to his work. Outside of work, you can find him grabbing brunch at the Brunswick Diner with his partner Kyle, walking his tuxedo cat Leo, or playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.

 As Chair of the Town Council for 2026, Nathan is focused on making Brunswick more affordable, sustainable, and inclusive. His priorities include addressing the housing crisis, advancing climate action toward net zero goals, and ensuring town government remains approachable, respectful, and efficient. Nathan is a proud queer individual who uses any pronouns and is the youngest person to serve as Chair of the Brunswick Town Council.
